Survey Introduction Statement

On Tuesday, November 6, 2007 voters were asked decide whether to Repeal the 1/2 cent transit tax, which is dedicated to "mass transit." The tax is used to fund Mecklenburg area transit projects, including the CATS bus system and the soon-to-be-opened light rail (Southeast Line). This survey is intended to determine the key factors that influenced your decision and to solicit your opinions regarding the use of taxes for roads and transit projects.
