TILLIS goes on the offense to fight uncontrolled spending and dangerous tax increases.
The House democrats brought their proposed budget to the floor for debate last week. The budget included nearly $800 million in so-called "Restoration" budget items, which is nothing more than a coordinated attempt to make certain constituents feel good about a major tax increase. House democrats and republicans debated the bill for several hours on Friday night and into the early AM hours of Saturday morning. In the end, the budget passed along party lines with all 52 Republicans voting against the budget.
The budget is now in conference committee where we are told we could see tax increases of 2 times what we already oppose. We cannot allow the democrat budget to pass in its current form. Please take a moment to contact the legislators and voice your concerns. Please visit my website ( CLICK this link) and look on the right for the "CALLS TO ACTION" and send a message to the House leadership.

Can you make a difference?
There is an old saying that "silence is consent." Friends and fellow citizens, we cannot afford to be silent regarding the problems with a major tax increase in these difficult times. If we allow the spending to continue, and the imposition of $1.5 billion in new taxes, it will have a devastating affect on individuals and businesses.
Some say "What can I do" and others say "They won't listen" but they do listen when we get together and we work hard to oppose unfair and untimely taxes.
Please take up this call to action and start by attending the Town Hall Meeting. Then continue the fight with me and others who care too much about the future of North Carolina to allow fatally flawed budget policy to be enacted.
Get involved and tell your friends and neighbors. |
